Sightseeing
Beautiful view of the river falls about 10-15 minutes away in Great Falls, VA. Fun facts this area is where the show American Dad is based off of. Parking is about $20 for non residents. The Maryland side (Great Falls, Potomac, MD) is free. There’s also a small hike trail here as well. For more interesting easy-moderate hike (3 miles total) then head down the street to Scott’s Run trail.

Big mall that’s split into two - Tyson’s Corner and Tyson’s Galleria. The latter has higher end shops and restaurants. The former has great American restaurants (coastal flats) and lots of regular shops such as Barnes and nobles, theatre, etc. This is near Great Falls, the sightseeing waterfall hike.

Nightlife area in DC, for bar hopping, lounges, and fine dining. Parking can be tough after 8:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. A lot of great restaurants, a few Michelin started ones such as Bresca for modern French or Seven Reasons for modern Spanish.

Highly recommend the smoked roasted chicken, which has over 100 spices, or the drunken ribeye which has an ale-soy marinade with garlic mashed potatoes. The prices are also affordable and they make two beers in-house, the naked river light and the lager.

Driving vs Uber vs Metro
Driving is the fastest way to get around, if your group is 4 or less, for going into the city of DC do consider an Uber which is about 30 minutes during moderate traffic, parking costs in DC can come out to be about the same price and take some time to find. Otherwise, the metro is recommended. Parking at the metro is $5 on weekdays but free on weekends starting Friday after 5pm. You can now use your phone to scan through the turnstile, download Smart Trip app and load money. Unlike the New York Subway, in DC, each person needs a card or phone to scan in and out since the fare varies.

The White House Tour
If you want a tour of the White House, you need to make reservations well in advance. Touring the White House requires some advance planning. Public tour requests must be made through your member of Congress (find your member of Congress and contact information) and submitted up to three months in advance and no less than 21 days prior to your visit.
