Sightseeing

The highlight of Bury St Edmunds! You must go and visit the Abbey Gardens and ruins if you haven't already, and they're only a 5 minute walk from the house 😊.

This is a beautiful National Trust park about 10 minutes drive/bus ride outside of Bury St Edmunds. Well worth a visit for a wander around the park.

This is beautiful hotel, built in 1452, sits right opposite the Abbey Gardens' main entrance. It has a very stylish restaurant/bar/cafe which is open all day and is definitely worth a stop. They do an amazing 'afternoon tea' with a big selection of cakes and sandwiches.

You can do a brewery tour and beer tasting in the Greene King Brewery, and they have a 'Beer Cafe' attached if you fancied a pint after the tour! It's about 10 minutes walk from the house.

This is one of my favourite, reasonably priced restaurants in town. Delicious Mediterranean food.

Probably my absolute fave place to go for a consistently delicious meal in a wonderful little restaurant, if I want to splash out a bit, which now has a Michelin Star!

This lovely old pub and micro brewery is my go to place for an awesome Sunday roast. Great food, and also a lovely pub to go and try all their home brewed ales.
