This is a great spot for cocktails as well as brunch, lunch or dinner. Pretty hipster with a nice wine list and knowledgeable bartenders and staff. I suggest the bruschetta as an appetizer! They close up around midnight on the weekends and probably closer to 10 during the week. If you want a nice cheese plate or apps for the house you can order over the phone and pick up as the place is only a couple blocks away.

This is an upscale restaurant with an incredible menu and wine list. Highly recommended and considered one of the absolute best restaurants in San Diego. You will love the atmosphere! I highly recommend the foie gras cookies. They are life changing!

This is a super hot new scene specializing in all things chicken. You can get sandwiches and fried chicken baskets with a great wine list. They have a really cool patio scene outside that is great for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon!

Nice little French brasserie with good food. Right near the park! You can walk but I'd recommend taking a bike or Uber. Solid wine list. I like the mussels and frites.

This spot is right next to the house. They have basic but very good Mexican food. It's not expensive and they have a good selection. You will also find a laundromat and liquor store across the street/next door.

Not as close to the house as you might want to be for coffee but if you're going to Little Italy anyway you should definitely stop here. The doughnuts are amazing and their coffee is really good.

Breakfast! This place is amazing. Their staff is amazing, their food is amazing! They have homemade pies and cakes that are to die for. Try the coffee cake!

You can see the Mister A's sign from the street in from of my house. The place is totally iconic with insane view of Mission Bay and a great, upscale scene. Definitely need a reservation. When in season, you can watch the fireworks over Sea World after dinner from their decks.

If you're looking for a great spot to have dinner before hitting Gaslamp Quarter for the night Rustic Root is awesome. The ambiance is great and their rooftop is always a good scene.

Kettner Exchange is a great spot to start out a night on the town. You have a killer cocktail list and great proximity to everything Little Italy. You can definitely walk there from the house! Attire and scene are trendy/hip. I know they serve dinner too but haven't eaten a full meal there yet.

Waterfront is the ultimate dive bar! It's right across the street from Kettner Exchange. You will love it for its rustic, inexpensive, laid back vibe. I almost never visit one of these bars without stopping into the other for a drink.

If you're going downtown this is one of my favorite spots. Kind of hidden amongst the crazy Gaslamp bars but well worth seeking out if you're into wine. They frequently have live music as well.

Parks & Nature
Balboa is the most amazing park you can imagine. It's only a few blocks from the house and features a ton of beautiful hiking and running trails. You can also venture into the museums with many frequently changing exhibits! They have an app you can download for iPhone or Android that gives great info on everything the park has to offer.

San Diego Zoo is a must-see when you are in town. It's a short cab, Uber or bike ride from my house and is totally worth the entry fee. I love going here on a date with my boyfriend. Yes there are a lot of kids and families, but it's so well done that it's amazing! They also serve local craft beer at most of the refreshment stands! Keep in mind they close at 5pm and it really takes at least three hours to get the most out of a visit because it's so huge.

2920 Zoo DrSan Diego Zoo is a must-see when you are in town. It's a short cab, Uber or bike ride from my house and is totally worth the entry fee. I love going here on a date with my boyfriend. Yes there are a lot of kids and families, but it's so well done that it's amazing! They also serve local craft beer at most of the refreshment stands! Keep in mind they close at 5pm and it really takes at least three hours to get the most out of a visit because it's so huge.
