You will be overwhelmed by the ease and beauty of diving into Captain Cooks Bay. Immediately you will see a dazzling array sea life. Time to go on a Treasure hunt. Merely 8-10 minutes from your present position. You won't need much, but you will need the proper attire. I would suggest comfortable hiking shoes, plenty of water, and also your swim suit. If you are able to pack a lunch for a picnic and carry it easily, make sure you are prepared to carry it for approximately 2 miles. You will hike through a dense forest . The terrain although kind of flat will be unfavorable for sandals. When you arrive at the Cove you will know that you have found the treasure. You are welcome! The only clue I will give you is; A natural lagoon created and protected by lava rocks. Remember buried treasure must remain a secret.

The volcano’s 4,090-foot (1,250-metre) summit has collapsed to form a caldera, a broad shallow depression nearly 3 miles (5 km) long and 2 miles (3.2 km) wide with an area of more than 4 square miles (10 square km). Kilauea’s slopes merge with those of the nearby volcano Mauna Loa on the west and north.
