You will travel through a road cut through lava flows and the look out at the top is built from the lava sourced locally. This is a short distance south of Bend in the Paulina peak caldera. There are two lakes, Paulina and East with great fishing and hiking around the lakes. One trail traverses an obsidian flow of black sharp rock. This is a great place to spend a day or to camp.

This is a real treat to get off the highway and relax at the lakes edge with a drink or food. A large deck overlooking the lake is the perfect place to enjoy the forest as you interact with friends and family. They make some delicious food at both the lodge and the boathouse.
