Calle Ancha is lined with small shops and tapas bars and is a good place to start a tapas tour of Leon, but eventually you’ll want to venture further afield.

At the beginning of Calle Ancha, you’ll see Casa de Los Botines, designed by Gaudi. It’s now owned by Caja España.

The second most important church in Leon and worth a visit in its own right. The cobbled square has an excellent Italian restaurant with a big terrace where you can enjoy an al fresco meal.

‘Barrio Humedo’ is the heart of Leon’s tapas and nightlife culture. Quiet during the day, it begins to heat up around 8.30pm and keeps going until the next morning.
