This stagecoach inn and plantation home was built around 1815 by James R. Wyly. He strategically located it along the newly constructed Unicoi Turnpike, a busy highway over the Appalachian Mountains. Jarrett continued to operate the inn, but doubled its size to make it the homeplace of his 14,400-acre plantation along the Tugaloo River. Three generations of Jarretts inhabited the site until the state of Georgia purchased the remaining few acres of the once-vast plantation for $8,000 in 1955. From the prehistoric Mound Builders, to the Cherokee, to the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment running "3 miles up, 3 miles down" - the famous Band of Brothers, Currahee Mountain has witnessed it all. Now Ol' Currahee watches over our sun-kissed vineyards at its feet. In 2008 Marvin Dunson began to think about using the family farm to produce wines. The family farm, at the base of beautiful Currahee Mountain, had once been an apple orchard owned by Marvin's parents. By 2009 planting had begun that would ultimately lead to award winning wines. Join us at the vineyard for wine tastings, Hours are: Friday 12:00PM-6:00PM, Saturday 11:00AM-6:00PM and Sunday 1:00PM to -6:00PM. We have live music
