Visitors to the picturesque island of Poros identify it with its landmark, the Clock Tower. This clock tower was built in 1927 and is an imposing feature. It is definitely a bit of a climb from the waterfront being the highest point of the island, but when you reach it, the view from there is breathtaking and worth the effort. The clock tower also attracts a number of photographers for the view it offers, the coming together of land, water and sky

The Temple of Poseidon is situated in the northern part of Poros. What remains today of this sanctuary are mere ruins. It used to be the center of the Kalavreian amphictyony that functioned as a voluntary co-operative for dealing with religious as well as civic issues for city states including Epidauros, Prassies, Hermione, Aigina, Athens and Orhomenos. It is believed to date back to the year 520 BC. The main temple structure is in Doric styled architecture. However, some of its columns do reflect the Ionian style. At the Poseidon's Temple came Demosthenes the ancient great orator availing himself of its right of sanctuary as Philip the King of Macedonia chased him.

The ancient theatre of Epidaurus was designed by Polykleitos the Younger in the 4th century BC. The original 34 rows were extended in Roman times by another 21 rows. As is usual for Greek theatres (and as opposed to Roman ones), the view on a lush landscape behind the skênê is an integral part of the theatre itself and is not to be obscured. It seats up to 14,000 people. The theatre is admired for its exceptional acoustics, which permit almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken words from the proscenium or skēnē to all spectators, regardless of their seating.
