The beautiful 18th Century house (think Jane Austen) is set in the north part of Hampstead Heath - rolling countryside-like park. The house has a Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Vermeer and beautiful decor. Lovely cafe next door too.

The English National Opera is our more accessible opera house - the operas are all sung in English and you can usually get tickets on the day for £20 (or less if you're happy to sit right up in 'the gods'). Availability is partly because the venue is the biggest seater theatre in the whole of London - so it takes a lot of people to fill it.

My favourite room is the Tudor Room (upstairs) because it's small and it shows the history of our kings and queens with beautiful bejewelled pictures of Queen Elisabeth I and others, using lots of gold. It's like a treasure box. The upstairs cafe there also has the best roof-top view of any in London (literally, of roof tops).
