One of the best restaurants on lake Zurich, less than 10mn walk from home. This place is a 'swiss knife' (multi-options ;) : from super chilled and calm moments to crazy parties, for chic diner / drink, Sunday brunch, day parties in summer... all this, right on the lake with a great view.
They obviously have good seafood, and they do special mussels & fries evenings in September, a must!

Another of my brunch favorites! This place is more expensive than others listed (around 60.-, which remains usual for Zurich), but you cannot beat this view - on the city, right on the main street of Zurich - and quality is according to price.

My second favorite restaurant, ranking in Zurich top5 brunch places. Brunch plates are awesome, with everything you could wish, and the place is lovely (especially the sunny terrace). Make sure to book in advance!
This place is also great for lunch or diner - yummy food in comfy atmosphere.

Gerolds Garten is one of the most iconic places to go out in Zurich. It's the perfect spot to chill out on a summer night with couple of friends or even on a romantic night. It's difficult to describe it, just check google image and you'll get this very special and cool atmosphere :)

23 GeroldstrasseGerolds Garten is one of the most iconic places to go out in Zurich. It's the perfect spot to chill out on a summer night with couple of friends or even on a romantic night. It's difficult to describe it, just check google image and you'll get this very special and cool atmosphere :)
No local food here, but real yummy Thai restaurant just next to the flat. The staff is lovely, prices are very correct (not cheap but not expensive) and they offer take away, too.

A great place in charming Niederdorf district for a fondue or raclette evening in winter :)
In case they have no available table, try the Raclette Stube just in front, it's very good too.

Hiltl was the very first vegetarian restaurant in the world, open in 1898. It is today a real institution but remains very accessible. There is a gargantuan buffet where you will find innumerable dishes, all delicious. Price depends on the weight of your plate so that no big waste occurs - and it is quite cool too for small eaters who can enjoy a great meal at affordable price :) Th room is quite big (and cosy/stylish) so you should get a table easily (I never book before going there, except for Sunday brunch).
They have a second place with rooftop terrasse on Bahnhofstrasse - called Dachterrasse.

Ach'i is a great thai restaurant! I discovered it after vacation in Thailande and really felt like I was brought back there during diner - food is delicious. The room is cosy, you will share big wooden table with your neighbors and prices are relatively cheap. Close to HB.

Outback lodge is an australian pub, nothing that will blow your mind but I like to get a couple of pints and bites there when I am in Opera / Stadelhofen area.

Bierhalle is definitely a touristy place, which - let's be honest - I would not visit unless with foreigners. But if you want to experience Oktoberfest whatever time in the year you are in Zurich, you should definitely spend an evening there. It is a beer tavern (not only a bar, they serve food too) where you will enjoy bustling and joyful moments. If you're looking for a cosy romantic evening, go on your way ;)

Close to the flat and Paradeplatz, this is a tiny place and quit famous. It might be difficult to get a table outside on the river side (main interest) but if you get one, it's perfect to sip a glass of wine, or whatever you like.

Go there to sip a whisky or homemade cocktail while having endless discussions with your friend, your neighbors or even the bartender, in his classy braces pants. Great moment guaranteed, if you like this style.

This bar is located in a women only Seebad (public pool), however the place is open to all at night - just remove your shoes :) Atmosphere is great there and you are right on the Limmat river, at the very center of Zurich, with great view of the city.

Maybe not my very favorite bar in Zurich, but there's a cool ambiance here, friendly staff, nice tapas and fair prices. It's 5mn from walk so perfect for a last drink or a safe / hassle-free night out :) It closes at 4am on the weekend, which is quite late for Zurich!
