Gatineau Park has amazing hikes and beaches. My favourite hike is Pink Lake. King Mountain has a nice view of the valley. Lac Meech is a great little beach to hangout at for a day. In the winter look into Winter camping. Lots of snow shoeing and crosscountry skiing trails. So many bikers hit to the roads through the parks as well.

Really lovely location for a walk. It's a pretty quick drive and the falls are beautiful. Nice city park in Ottawa. There is a walking trail that leads over to Mooney's Bay.

Quaint little beach and park. You can watch the canoe club practicing out on the water. Beach volleyball matches take place almost every evening in the summer. Little bar on the beach open in the summer. Amazing new kids park too.

There is a nice park around the lake that is home to Ottawa's tulip festival in the spring. You can rent canoes and kayaks throughout the spring until fall. An access point to skating on the Rideau canal in the winter.

I love going to the Fury games-smaller crowds but good soccer-prices of tickets very reasonable. The 67s games are great if you want to see great hockey close by at a good price.
Look into concerts and comedy shows coming to town here too.
