Eating fish in the desert doesn't sound that inviting, but Pacific Grill has some pretty decent food. If you are looking for something a little more casual for dinner, this is what we recommend. One of the most surreal places around, this lake in the desert is a great place to fish, go boating, take a swim or walk along the beach, yes, the beach! Just don't get your car stuck in the sand!

Caballo is a beautiful mountain lake. It is know for it's scenery and peace and quiet.

If you want to walk or run along the river, this is where to go. It is a small and simple park but offers some great nature watching. Follow the park to the end where it connects with a dirt road to extend your journey. It is located just three blocks south on Marr St.

The park has shade trees, picnic tables, a gazebo, basketball courts, playground equipment, free wireless internet, and Skateboard Park. The Sierra County Farmers Market is held there from May through October on Saturday mornings.
