A real locals' scene- check their billboards to see if they are having a fish fry, barbeque night or some other do, which are open to all. A neat way to meet some old-time Dunedin residents, as well as new ones. And check out the Gator out front- these landing vehicles were originally designed and built in Dunedin during WWII for use in both the European and Pacific theaters.

Parks & Nature

Ride your bike up the Pinellas Trail and then enjoy biking around in the hammock- sand and boardwalk trails take you through the jungly landscape that show what Dunedin was like when it was settled by Scottish families in the 1880s. There's a beautiful historic chapel up there too. Keep an eye out for gopher tortoises, and the very occasional alligator!

Conseils sur la ville

Voyage avec des enfants

Great playground by the downtown marina

They have lots of play areas, some divided by age, with shaded places to sit. You can take the kids walking down along the driveway along the southern edge of the marina to the little beach in front of the marina and boat club- a nice place for the kids to be able to put their toes in the water, although it's not really a nice sandy beach like at Honeymoon.

Definitely check out the website localtikirides

This is a local business- you can get a ride Friday or Saturday on their hilarious tiki van (it works on a tips-only basis) or charter it, and their social media page usually has a list of what's happening all over Dunedin. Lots of local and up-to-date info!
