Crissy Field, once an army airfield, is a beautifully reclaimed beach and part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA). You can stroll or bike down the beach all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge - it's a great sunset spot! Underneath the bridge is Fort Point, an old military fort - if you want an unusual view of the bridge, go to the roof of the fort and look up.
