Scenic Alpine lakes area. Tons of hiking trails and off highway trails for dirt biking, ATVs, vehicles, snowmobiles etc. Sardine Lake with Sierra Buttes backdrop is incredibly stunning. Packer Lake, Gold Lake, Fraizer Falls, Gold Lake and Graeagle Lodges are great places to hang out with a glass fo wine or go hiking.

Scenic Alpine lakes area. Tons of hiking trails and off highway trails for dirt biking, ATVs, vehicles, snowmobiles etc. Sardine Lake with Sierra Buttes backdrop is incredibly stunning. Packer Lake, Gold Lake, Fraizer Falls, Gold Lake and Graeagle Lodges are great places to hang out with a glass fo wine or go hiking.
Great trout fishing at Lake Davis. Eagle Lake Cutthroat trout are being caught as planted by CA Wildlife. Great place to bicycle on country road with about 15 miles of road. Can be quiet difficult as elevational change is about 1,000 from Portola to Lake Davis.

It touts the challenging Dragon golf course designed by architect Robin Nelson and opened in 2000, the year of the Golden Dragon in the Chinese calendar. The Gold Mountain community touts 400 homesites with many Taliesin Architect designed home. Taliesin is the architectural firm of Frank Lloyd Wright and the community was masterplanned and over 80 homes are from the Taliesin collection.

Sightseeing

Graeagle was once a mill town. Timber was cut and harvested and milled into agricultural boxes and shipped to the Sacramento basin in early 1900's. This mill town turned tourist destination offers 6 golf courses within a half to 15 mile radius. The Mill pond, shops, galleries, restaurants, crafts faires and fireworks (4th of July) are just some of the towns attractions.
