Arts & Culture

Woking's own canal-side art gallery. It has a rolling calendar of exhibitions and particularly interesting permanent display of Woking area history and memorabilia. There is now a one off charge that give entry for the year. All this and a coffee shop too... what's not to like (NB Due to the well publicised problems of Woking Borough Council, this facility is now under threat.)

Sightseeing

A graveyard isn't everyone's first choice for walk(!) but this Cemetery is well worth a look. Also known as the London Necropolis, it is the largest cemetery in the United Kingdom. It has beautiful and pristine war graves with, among others, US, Canadian, Polish, Czech, Belgian, Dutch and Italian sections. Lots of wildlife can be seen in the overgrown parts on the south side of Cemetery Pales. It originally had it's own railway station. It's also home to the monastic Saint Edward Brotherhood and a church housing the relics of Saint Edward the Martyr!
