Its the largest predator free land area on the NZ mainland, completely surrounded by a special fence to keep all the bad guys out and protect our native birds and insects. There is a great 2km walking track that leads to a viewing tower. A $20 admission fee is charged as this project is entirely funded by independent contributions as it isn't a National Park. Well worth a look.
