Food Scene

IMHO the BEST Vietnamese food in a town with a large Viet community and several restaurants. Go for the food and the amazing prices, the ambiance is lacking though. Menu Suggestions: # 101 Crispy Spring Rolls # 104 Cold Spring Rolls # 318 Rare Beef Noodle Soup # 448 Bun (a noodle bowl with a spring roll, BBQ pork and lots of fresh veggies and herbs - YUMMO!)

The Walper Social (basement level in the Walper Hotel). Upscale casual restaurant with a stylish and super-cozy ambiance. It reminds me of eating in a wine cellar. Perfect for a great meal on a chilly night.

This hipster hot spot bakes up some of the best bread in town. The vibe is very cool, the coffee is excellent and the raisin buns are beyond amazing. Don't forget your spare change, this place is cash based and payment is via a honour system cash box.

Not just a great restaurant, also a hip and happening spot for a from-scratch (and excellent) cocktail. Casual decor and a small but excellent menu. IMHO the best mac n' cheese in town (tocino is their secret ingredient, mmmmm!).
