This is so much more than a restaurant and gift shop! It's on the way from La Verkin to Zion National Park in Virgin, UT. If you are checking out Zion from the west entrance, I highly recommend going here for lunch or dinner. It's one of my family's favorite places to go. It's reasonably priced (hint, get a delicious burger on a homemade bun with all the fixings, fries, drink, and a pickle, for $6.99!) AND you will have a truly memorable experience into yesteryear...traveling back to the "OLD WEST"! The Western Village, with it's nostalgic flair is a load of fun with a nice variety of animals in the petting farm to feed and pose for pictures...plus the Restaurant is an Old West Saloon & Ice Cream Parlor...serving foods from that era...Bar-B-Q, Homemade Breads, Huge Steaks & Buffalo Burgers, Fresh Fried Chicken & Pizza just the way you love it! And for dessert, Homemade Ice Cream, freshly baked pies, cookies, cakes & Fudge! they have the best variety in their gift shop that you will find in southern Utah...You don't want to miss this gem!

This place is excellent and on your way to Zion. Breakfast sandwich: massive, hearty, tasty, made with love. Large lattes made with four shots. High quality smoothies as well. Wonderful coffee house with amazing views of the gorge and valley. The turkey and bacon panini is wonderful. River Rock also serves a number of local beers including Evolution Ale and Provo Girl from Wasatch Brewing. It is a bustling place and the employees are friendly and helpful.

Berry Knoll Bakery is an excellent place to pick up delicious pastries or muffins, breakfast sandwiches (bagel and lox too!), salads, coffee and espresso, and especially PIZZA. They offer baked pizza or take n' bake pizza. I prefer the take n' bake for a night in, so it can be fresh and hot out of the oven. Any of the pizzas are delicious. If you don't want to bake it at home, I recommend the "pizza bombs". These are essentially calzones, and come in meat lovers, supreme, and pepperoni. They could definitely make a cheese or vegetarian one for you but it would require calling ahead. The house coffee is delicious and they also offer specialty drinks.

The Stage Coach Grille as such a fun, laid back, rustic atmosphere. The food is a little on the pricey side, but delicious! Some excellent options are: the smoked chicken, ribs, New York strip steak, & the salmon. They are all moist & flavorful! The owners have friends from Greece, so they have regular appetizers & Greek appetizers. They sprinkle a little oregano on their fries & have other fun flares in their food. They have a delicious bacon vinaigrette salad dressing, my mouth waters thinking about it!

Sego Restaurant is an experience like no other. The dining here is on par with the finest restaurants of New York or LA. It has quickly become the #1 restaurant in Kanab and for good reason. This is a highly desirable place to eat so reservations are recommended. It is only open from 6-10, Monday through Saturday. I recommend the Grilled Cesaer Salad and the Scallops. From the Sego website: SEGO SERVES DINERS A SELECTION OF REGIONAL NEW AMERICAN CUISINE FOCUSING ON WHAT MAKES THIS COUNTRY UNIQUE AND ECLECTIC. FROM COAST TO COAST, THE USA HAS SOME OF THE FINEST WORLD CUISINE AND WE HONOR THAT MELTING POT THROUGH OUR SOCIAL PLATES DINING CONCEPT IN ONE OF THE UNITED STATES' MOST STUNNING LOCATIONS. Drinks & Nightlife

Delicious food, live music, great drinks and a plethora of local brews on tap, a great place to go after a long hike in Zion. The Ascender Hefeweizen and Apricot Ale are amazing.

Maxwell Park is what we like to call our "mini-Zion" right in our backyard, only 15 minutes from the Desert Sage Chalet. This is where we get all our drinking water from the natural spring. There is plenty of grass, shady trees, and barbecue pits. You will be surrounded by gorgeous sandstone red sheer cliffs. This is one of the best kept secrets in our area.

This one of our favorite places. Beautiful, giant cottonwoods offer bountiful shade, there are rolling grassy hills and lots of playground equipment for the kids. There is even a world-famous 2 story slide, fun for all-ages! We highly recommend this place. :)

This is one incredible trail. You may need a 4 wheel drive if there has been a lot of rain, otherwise just expect bumps, sometimes big ones. You will have the opportunity to hike up a beautiful little creek to the waterfall at the very top. There are stunning views and cliffs all around. It's about a 2 hour hike both ways for intermediate hikers. Search google for photos.

Valley of Fire State Park is Nevada's first State Park. This is a great park for kids. Lots of sandstone rocks to climb, explore, and play hide-n-seek. The colors in the sandstone are spectacular: red, white and pink. There are enough hikes to easily keep you busy for two days, but even if you only have one day you do not want to miss this State Park. A must is driviving the White Dome road to the end. Don't miss this park for colorful sandstone views, numerous arches, petrifed logs, Petroglyphs, old rock cabins built by the CCC, Desert Bighorn Sheep, chuckwalla's and other wildlife, and old film locations. You won't be disappointed.

Great little full service grocery store with reasonable prices. You can also buy lottery tickets and beer and wine here. Just south of Bee's Marketplace (the town grocery store) is a little food shack called "The Hive". This is a great little place that has fast service and offers drive-thru foods; hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, prepared salads, french fries, curly fries, onion rings, etc. They also offer breakfast sandwiches. Delicioso!

Arts & Culture

The National Park Service does an excellent job giving tours here. They explain not just the history of Pipe Springs but delve into the co-existence of the three groups that relied on the springs. The Paiute Indians, the Mormon settlers and the US Government. Ranger Kait, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of life in this remote location. She explained the political and religious ramifications for the Native Americans and the Mormons. The tour is given at the top of the hour and if you have extra time, there is a great 20 minute film to watch as well as the artifacts in the visitors center. Take the time to walk the Ridge Trail behind the museum. The views are spectacular
