Leacanbuaile Fort is one of the best examples of the interior of a round stone fort in Ireland and is one of very few of these forts to be evacuated this was done in 1939/1940. Objects found include iron,bone,bronze,lead and stone dating from the 9th or 10th century.

Ballycarbery castle is well worth a trip as is my favourite beach Cuascrome - great swim from the beach to the pier. The White Strand is a beautiful beach for all the family & offers the opportunity of a walk on the beach.
