Parks & Nature
Less than 15 minutes from home, Red Rocks is not just an amazing music venue, it is a spectacular geologic wonder. There are trails to hike, a gift shop and the amphitheatre to explore. If you are lucky enough to be there for a concert, it will be an experience like no other!

There are trails to hike, a gift shop and the amphitheatre to explore. If you are lucky enough to be there for a concert, it will be an experience like no other!
Less than an hour from home, Echo Lake offers beautiful hiking and picnic shelters, an interesting old lodge/now restaurant and stunning scenery. The road to the top of Mount Evans is closed in winter, but an amazing place to go in the summer months.

Central City/ Blackhawk are our local gaming towns. Historic mining towns, they now where you go to gamble. Even if you're not a gambler, there are plenty of sights to see! Just walk around town to check out the shops, listen to the music and eat some of that great food served up by the casinos. Shuttles are available from our area.

Got kids? Children are endlessly entertained by the tiny buildings they can go in, and the tiny train that runs around the whole place. Good for little ones 2 years or so to 10ish. It's an easy drive into the foothills, maybe 20 minutes from home.

It's a fun area to walk around, exploring the old architecture and checking out what the businesses are now. Unique shops, galleries and eateries abound. One of my favorites is the Old Schoolhouse - yep, a lunch spot in the old school.
