Best sushi and best ambience in Royal Oak! Happy hour EVERYDAY from 5-7pm w/ awesome food and drink deals! Once happy hour is over it is a little on the expensive side. Only open for dinner and late night. Late night weekends it gets quite packed with people dressed to the nines.

If you're looking for a real going out night, this is the biggest & most-happening bar in Royal Oak. There are two floors (2nd floor is dancing), they also have a nice outdoor patio out front and lots of pool tables on both floors. This bar is on the dressier side and verging on a nightclub. A serious step up from O'Tooles or Woody's both located on the same block.

Good bar that is off the beaten path a little bit. (i.e. not located on 5th street where the 3 major bars are). Perfect if the "going out" scene of 5th street looks overwhelming. They show sports games too.

Awesome island in the Detroit River! it is the largest city-owned island park in the U.S.! 20 min drive from our house. My go to place to be in nature or on the water for the day not too far from home. It went through a rough patch, but the state now manages it and it is quickly returning to its former glory days!! There is an Aquarium on the island, a large conservancy/botanical garden/greenhouse, and the Detroit Yacht Club. Also a great place for an outdoor barbecue or family party!!
