Café Rio is another chain restaurant that started in Utah and is now in multiple states. They serve your regular Tex-Mex dishes: burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, etc. They are famous for their cilantro ranch salad dressing. There are other chains that have tried to duplicate it (Costa Vida), but nothing is better than the original. What we recommend: Shredded chicken or pork salad, burrito

American Fork canyon is beautiful and is less than ten minutes from our door. Entrance into the canyon is $6 for a 1-3 day pass and $12 for a 7 day pass. Fee is taken at the gate when you drive in. There are many different hikes all throughout the canyon. You can also use the picnic areas and have a campfire spring through fall. The canyon is also a beautiful drive in the fall and if followed all the way through will come out in Provo Canyon. It is called the Alpine Loop. If you are just driving through and not stopping, you do not need to pay the fee. To get to the canyon, just turn left out the driveway. At the end of the street turn left onto Alpine Highway. When you get to the stop light, turn right on Timpanogos Highway and this road leads straight into the canyon.

Park City is a beautiful small town about an hour from our house. Main Street has lots of restaurants and shops and is fun to walk up and down. Our favorite place to eat is Handle and we highly recommend trying it if you venture this way. In January they host the Sundance Film Festival and it’s packed with celebrities and media. In the summer it’s a nice place to get away from the heat. Park City used to be a mining town and there is a nice mining museum on Main Street. Deer Valley is upscale with the best ski resort in Utah and lots of beautiful hotels and homes. They also have a summer concert series.
