Outstanding hiking, biking, birding, kayaking, fishing. Best Park in Manatee County. Incredible views of the Manatee River where it connects to Tampa Bay. View of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Anna Maria Island, Egmont Key. Tons of Native Birds, Turtles, Fish. There is swimming at several spots here. Be sure to Stop at the front left parking area and go in that area to get a map. Tons to do here. You won't regret it.

History of Manatee County early settlers during the civil war. Nice place to take a picnic also. Check the internest to see the Parks event calendar. They often have re-enactments, car shows, craft shows, etc.
There's also Hickory Hollow Diner and Popis place out in that area. Very good produce stand across the street from here as well.
