Used to be the “Marlin Café and Grill”, but new owners re-opened in late 2015… Nice “top end” restaurant, creative menu, including seafood of course.

Down on the wharf, rated as best Fish & Chips in town! Yeah it’s good, if this is what you’re after.

Fantastic ‘hole in the wall’ coffee pit-stop, located in Volcom Lane. They also have a location 10-min out of town in Te Uku, called the Roast Office (in the old Post Office).

Bit pricier than other options, but great food. Particularly nice in outdoor weather, with most seating outside. Good George beer on tap, and on busy summer nights there’s often a DJ adding to the atmosphere.

Rockit is a funky café/restaurant halfway out to surfing beaches; on the right hand side, you can’t miss it. They have a great menu of healthy snacks and food, as well as good coffee and great atmosphere. Occasional evening gigs performed here.

The original “classy” joint in town. Good seafood and great service. Their beef burger and fries is very tasty and the best value! They have Good George on tap, a Hamilton boutique brewery – yum. The IPA is tops.

Excellent restaurant, excellent food. A favourite for breakfast, but good for all meals, with vegan options on menu. and good coffee too. Not open every night of the week, so you may end up elsewhere for dinner, but definitely the spot to go for breakfast.

The good old pub - always a sure bet. Good food at reasonable prices, something for everyone on menu. The Harbour View also tends to be one of the last kitchens open, so it’s your “go to” joint if you get caught out late. Sitting on the verandah with a beer and watching the town go by is not a bad way to spend your afternoon…
