Parks & Nature

Best hiking trails, walking trails, biking trails and place to get in touch with nature. You would believe you are still in the city, but in a beautiful remote nature park. This is my family's favorite place in Philadelphia.

This historic mansion is the site of the Battle of Germantown, fought during the Revolutionary War. What makes this location so special is that seven generations of the Chew family lived here from 1767 to 1972. Benjamin Chew and his descendants keep copious records, correspondences, financial ledgers and other documents that are still available today for research purposes at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. The documentation of their slaves lives are especially important and unique.
