This is Dimingsdale, though for a starting point and parking, head for the Ramblers Retreat and the free car park is in front, giving access to the forstry, lakes and the old railway line and canal. This is where the chained oak resides.
Great for a walk along the paths the duke of Shrewsbury made for his carriages to take his visitors on sightseeing trips around his estate. Enjoy a cake and refreshments at the Ramblers Retreat cafe afterwards.
Whether you are walking, strolling, running, or just out for a spontaneous trip, Dimmingsdale is a wonderful place to be. The location, horticulture and landscape is breath taking. Right in the middle of it all is a coffee shop/cafe called The Rambler's Retreat so you can stop and have a meal…
