Paddle with seals and sea lions in one of our rental kayaks. Or, take a beach walk and learn about a old time commercial fishing method still practiced on Lopez Island called reef netting.

Short drive south of Lopez Village, can walk along the beach or drive on to park and walk to the Spit to overlook some of Lopez Island's water setting. Parking and restroom at trail head.

Gentle hiking on trails through the orchard of an old homestead, coastal dunes, a grassy headland and a wetland...eventually winding down to the sand spit and approximately 1 mile of shoreline. Please stay on designated trails to protect fragile meadows, butterfly habitat restoration areas and nesting, foraging birds!

This isolated piece of public land has trails leading to a sandy beach. The trails are easy and fairly level. There is a pit toilet next to the parking area.
