The isle of Lerins is home to an abbey, a world class vineyard and a natural habitat. You can visit it from Cannes by taking a ferry operate by the abbey.

The islands of Lerins is a nice full day outing. You can take the ferry in Juan les pins (20 minutes walk), they have shuttle every hours. It takes 15 minutes to go. Sainte Margueritte is the biggest island where you can visit a Fort, there is a restaurant and a small sandwich spot. Bathing is all around the island. Saint Honorat is the smallest and it belongs to the monks. You can visit their abbey, they sell their own wine, jam and other product they produce on the island. You have also a restaurant and possibility to bath as well.

Saint Honorat island is only 1.5 kilometers long and just 400 meters wide. You can get around it in less than an hour at a gentle walking pace. Of course, in reality it will take much longer because it is worth stopping to admire the beautiful views and enjoy the charms of the local flora. You can take a ferry to the Lerins Islands. They run from the Old Port of Cannes. Before the cruise you have to decide which island you want to visit because there is no ferry between the islands. Ferries from Cannes run throughout the year from morning to evening. You can find prices and hours on the trans-cote-azur.co.uk website (for the Saint Margaret island) and on the cannes-ilesdelerins.com website (for the Saint Honorat island).

L’abbaye de Lérins est une abbaye, située sur l'île Saint-Honorat dans les îles de Lérins, sur le territoire de la commune de Cannes, dans le département français des Alpes-Maritimes, en région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Le premier monastère est fondé par Honorat d'Arles, vers 400-410. Les bâtiments actuels ont été construits entre les xie et xive siècles, puis au xixe. L'abbaye fut longtemps clunisienne ; le monastère abrite aujourd'hui une communauté de moines cisterciens de la Congrégation cistercienne de l'Immaculée Conception. Depuis 2011, elle accueille chaque année le Festival de Silence qui se tient parallèlement au Festival de Cannes.
