This is one of our favorite places to hike, picnic and hang. It's truly gorgeous.

In Bristol, a true gem within Rhode Island's state park system. 464 acres of lawn, 4 miles of paved pathways, hiking trails all located in the one of the state's most spectacular shorelines.

Colt State Park is public open space that occupies 464 acres on Poppasquash Neck in the township of Bristol, Rhode Island, once owned by industrialist Samuel P. Colt. The park is a major component of the Poppasquash Farms Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a stop on the East Bay Bike Path. The park includes trails, picnic groves, boat ramps, an observation tower, and an open-air Chapel-by-the-Sea. This is a great place to take a drive, watch the sunset and go for a walk. Bristol Town Beach is located right outside the park and offers a sandy beach, playground, skate park, bocce courts, tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields and has plenty of parking.
