A popular pastime amongst Coloradans is bagging 14ers - summiting the state's peaks reaching over 14,000 feet above sea level! Quandary is easy to access and the Eastern approach is as easy as they come (which is still pretty tough!)

“This is my favorite hike in the summer. If you have an Off-Road vehicle (Jeep or truck with ground clearance), I recommend driving as far as you are comfortable on the old mining road. When hiking, once you cross the creek you will be hiking up near the waterfall. If you are up for it, you can scramble up the rocks next to the waterfall - just be careful”

“Park at the Spruce Creek Trailhead and follow the signs to Mohawk Lake. This is my favorite hike in the area. AllTrails rates the hike as "hard" and is says that the trail is 8.2 miles out and back. Its long and steep but so totally worth it. the lake and surrounding mountains are magical. My wife and I can be found during the summer and fall hiking this trail regularly. We actually got engaged on the South West bank of the lake!”
