The Black Lake is black indeed! Its water is actually crystal clear, but organic waste of plants and animals gathers at the bottom of the lake and create a thick layer of silt which gives the lake a typical black color. It is situated in a marshy area in the middle of Pohorje woods and presents a nice spot for a short trip; a lovely path across wooden footbridges leads to it from the direction of 'Dom Na Osankarici' hut. The area around the lake is protected as a natural reserve. Since it is pretty much complicated to find as a starting point of your walk, ask me for the direction, or if you feel adventurous take the trip to Slovenska Bistrica, follow the direction to ski slope Sv. Trije Kralji - 'Dom Na Osankarici' hut. The walk is also easy for children age 5 and older. 28 km, but 52 min drive. But it is worth it!
