A National Arboretum, encompasses 135 hectares of exotic and native trees, shrubs and climbing plantings. It has a 25km tail walk, Native birds, and lovely play ground. In the autumn it is very pretty, with the leaves changing colour.

Eastwoodhill is the national arboretum of New Zealand. It covers 131 hectares and is located 35 km northwest of Gisborne, in the hill country of Ngatapa. It was founded in 1910 by William Douglas Cook.
