This is by far our favourite beach. A bit of a drive but on a nice day it is well worth it. A large sandy beach and stunning mountain views.
Harlech beach is also amazing and just up the road, you can hop on the train to get there. Lovely mountain views.
Huge sandy beach - you can take dogs there. Pay to park. If you are there, then worth heading up into town to see the castle as well! Beautiful drive there but it is about 1 1/4 hours but through stunning scenery
World heritage site. Whilst not as well a kept secret as Benar Beach, it still has incredible sand dunes and a beach that stretched as far as the eye can see. Also the town of Harlech with it's incredible castle as also well worth a look.
In my opinion the best unspoilt beach in the UK! Fantastic swimming, amazing whale and dolphin sightings. great for a long stroke in either direction but keep left if you have dogs. Oh and a great beach to run on (so my husband says!)

“Wonderful hotel on the shore of the estuary. You can see this hotel from the walk close to the cottage. Very special, with fantastic views. I love walking down through the Italian Portmeirion village to the hotel. Very special.”

“An amazing way to see Snowdonia scenery. Mountains, waterfalls, tumbling rivers. As well as enjoying the magnificent steam trains. We like to travel to Beddgelert (one of the prettiest places in Snowdonia) spend a couple of hours there exploring before our return. ”
