Only 20 min. away. Soaring cliffs and precipitous ledges mark the Belt Creek Canyon. Remains of mines, a railroad, and historic cabins line Belt Creek. This rugged area has seen its share of prospectors searching for precious metals. The Barker mines and the Montana Central Railroad are just apart of its rich history. Use caution, primitive unmaintained trails with access to fishing, challenging floats, and wildlife viewing. Please use caution when hiking or floating the park.

Hike the Upper or Lower trailheads for beautiful views and trails that wind through a canyon carved in limestone. Hikes for all levels, but you will travel over Belt creek, so be ready for wet shoes. Located 12 miles south of Belt on the Kings Hills Scenic Byway.
Make sure to get there before 10am for parking! Bring some lunch and enjoy a beautiful spot to spend a few hours.
Just a short drive out of town, nestled in the Little Belt Mountains. This park offers trails alongside large cliffs and ledges, once a hotbed of silver and lead mining. Since there are some steep grades and precarious pathways, it is best for at least moderately-experienced hikers. Bring a fishing pole, too!
