It’s tiny—just over two-dozen seats, cooks jostling in a pocket-sized kitchen—but it makes a big impression. The wine list is a treat, featuring gorgeous old-world finds, and nothing currently falls over $160 (which is unheard of in this neighbourhood). Chef Jonathan Nicolaou’s menu, alert to the season and designed for easy pairings, is full of surprises.

Brothers is a nice restaurant that sits directly atop Bay subway station. They serve aggressively simple dishes, just tasty things on a plate with no real guidelines other than trying to source as much as possible from Ontario and having a loose Mediterranean influence.

This tiny little resto serves up some incredibly good food! Owned by two brothers, hence the name, the food is always local and fresh so the menu is always changing. Serving up dishes likes sweetbreads and cheese plates, it's a sure thing for those looking for a bit of a fancier dining experience. It's also just around the corner from Yorkville, which is the perfect place for walking off a delicious meal.

Though Brothers is tucked away in an office building above the bustling Bay Station, slipping behind the curtain at the entrance feels utterly transportive. The menu is compact and changes with the seasons, but the shareable plates are beautifully executed. Expect things like crispy sweetbreads with mushrooms, a bright snapper terrine and house-made pasta. Its wine program is in perfect step with the food offerings, showcasing local and global producers with a lean towards biodynamic and natural producers.
