Amazing views of Breckenridge. In the summer, the road is open to drive on, bike, or walk. In Winter, the road is closed but you can still cross county ski, or snowshoe on the road.
This is a great beginner gravel touring road (biking) that climbs to the Continental Divide at Boreas Pass. Along the way, pass an historic water tank, a round house and other mining era vestiges, while connecting two iconic mountain towns. You can start in the town of Como, and end at the winter…
The views are spectacular as you wind your way up Boreas Pass Road. Check for winter closures - the road closes to vehicle traffic early in November, opening the route for backcountry exploration on foot.
Scenic drive from Como to Breckenridge (used to be railroad passage), hiking trails, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing.
