Surf's up ! The Honoli’i River joins the ocean, with surfing and some swimming areas. Bathrooms on site. popular place especially on weekend and holidays. This place is famous, featured in local songs and stories.

The best surf in Hilo. Family friendly, wave breaks for all levels. Good for surfboards, bodyboards, SUP/paddleboard, kayaks, fishing. Occasionally whales can be spotted and turtles are almost always present.

“Rainbow Falls is a waterfall located in Hilo, Hawaii. It is 80 ft tall and almost 100 ft in diameter. The falls are part of the Hawai'i State Parks. There is no fee to see the falls. At Rainbow Falls, the Wailuku River rushes into a large pool below.”
