Instead of driving, take the West Seattle water taxi for a quick visit to Alki Beach (bring a bike). It's an enjoyable ride and has great views of downtown Seattle.

A 15 minute boat ride to West Seattle. Taxi's run frequently across Elliot Bay. Disembark and enjoy a walk on the beach or lunch. Or just ride the taxi both ways.

Take this picturesque 10 minute ride across the sound to West Seattle for one of the best sunset views around of downtown. Eat dinner at the local favorite Marination Ma Kai right at the harbor before you return to Seattle.

The West Seattle Water Taxi is a fabulous way to get downtown like a local. It is $5.75 or $5.00 on a transit "orca" pass to take this 10 minute ride from Alki Beach to Downtown. It is also located next to one of my favorite restaurants, Marination Ma Kai.

“Ali Beach is a very popular destination during good weather and the summertime. There are several restaurants and coffee shops, and a fantastic walking/biking path! It's easy to get there - you can drive or take the water taxi from downtown. ”

This café always has a large selection of fresh baked goods and desserts to choose from, which are sold on a first come, first serve basis. With over 20 years experience in pastry, bread and chocolate, and as the captain of the 2005 Bread Bakers Guild Team USA, where he led his team to victory at the Coupe du Monde de Boulangerie (World Cup of Baking), William Leaman’s Bakery Nouveau has become a Seattle icon. ”
