Probably the most well-known village and historical site of Drôme Provençale. The castle, in Renaissance style, hosted the writer Madame de Sévigné (mother-in-law to the Comte de Grignan) on several occasions. The village itself, flowered with roses, is charming and offers interesting shops and fine restaurants.

Grignan is a hillside village which developed around its castle. The village dates back to the 11th century and was fortified in the 12th. Also known for it's "Festival de la correspondance".

There are many lovely little boutiques in Grignan including one making and selling their own pottery, lavender, honey, funky clothes and more. There is also a small grocery store in the village which is open until 7pm.
