Conseils des habitants
Climb to the top of this 1000 year old Norman Castle for stunning panoramic views across Sussex.
Situated on top of a hill, the view across the fields to the site of the Battle of Lewes are spectacular. This is not suitable for people who need assistance with steps.
Lewes, a picturesque town tucked under the Downs is fun to explore. Plenty of independent shops, antique book shops, a popular Antique Market, the Castle and Harvey's Brewery all make this a special place to visit.
A proper old English castle with great views of the surrounding area and wonderful twisty little lanes and quirky houses near by.
Catch a train from Eastbourne to Lewes or the 125 bus. Half price entry with English Heritage membership. Located half way up the steep street in the centre of the town.
