See Great Falls, take a mule-towed canal ride, awesome hiking and biking trails, hike The Billy Goat Trail (strenuous rocky climb but my kids have done it and have been just fine!)

You can borrow bikes at the visitor center on S. Potomac St in Williamsport MD at no charge! (Don't go to Potomac MD. Ignore what the AirBnB map shows; it keeps overriding me)

“Though our area is dotted with dozens of smaller battle fields (which also double as gentle-moderate hikes) those interested in Civil War history will want to take the short drive to Antietam National Battle field. Do one stop or continue through all the linked parks in and around Sharpsburg, Md. ”
