Conseils des habitants
Closest restaurant to the apt. Just take a right out the door, and The Grog is down a block on right.
"Everyone meets at The Grog!" Homey, local atmosphere with great food, drink, and live music.
Long time pub is a Newburyport classic. Can't beat the $1 oysters offered daily, dozens of beers on tap and a full menu.
A restaurant with nightly music on the lower level - a 15 minute walk downtown on Middle Street.
This a great place for lunch dinner or for just drinks. Atmosphere is lsimilar to an English pub & the is food good and prices are reasonable. They also have a live band after 9 pm on weekends.

“Maudslay State Park is a landscaped and decorative park along the right bank of the Merrimack River. It features thickets and gardens, rolling meadows, tall pines, and one of the largest naturally occurring stands of mountain laurel in the Commonwealth. The state park was created from the early 20th century estate of Frederick Strong Moseley, the son of Edward Strong Moseley, 1813–1900, a prominent citizen of Newburyport. ”

“Once a meeting place between American Indians and early explorers from England, France and Holland, Market Square was used to trade furs and fish back in the 1700’s given it’s closeness to the Merrimack River. This all came to an end in 1811 when Market Square was destroyed by a major fire. As part of a 20-year HUD Urban Renewal Project the brick structures were rebuilt, giving Market Square a Federalist charm that now spotlights its beautiful 19th century architecture.”
