An amazing beach with wonderful sunny swimming, plus hiking, biking, picnics, a nature center and a board walk. I have flown a kite here too, much fun.

Hammonassett is a great place to camp, or just visit for the day. It is a beautiful preserve where you can see different types of birds, and the beach is lovely. There are a couple of spots along the beach that feature large shelters with tables and amenities, and there is also a nature center in…

We added Hammonasset under sightseeing because to us, it is a beautiful, walkable beach area. Head over to Meigs Point, and to the beach, walk left. There is a path that will take you to breathtaking views and it can be quite secluded. 51 minute drive.

Excellent for a long bike ride or picnic. They charge in season and often close the entrance at capacity. Walk the beach or follow the boardwalk.

One of the best state parks on the shoreline. A nature and bird sanctuary with wide beaches and dunes. If you are a bird watcher, look out for the snowy owl.
