For views of the water from downtown Vancouver check out English Bay. The sunsets are beautiful even on a cold day. There are a number of restaurants on English Bay to catch the sunset. Directly on the beach is Cactus Club.

“ Gastown is a neighbourhood that seamlessly combines old with new, history with the way forward. An essential part of Vancouver’s history, a visit to Gastown should include a stroll along Water Street, where you’ll find a picture-perfect collection of old buildings, cobblestones, the Steam Clock, and vintage lampposts. Continue to the end of Water Street to visit a statue of the man who started it all, Gassy Jack Deighton. Architecture and history buffs can take organized walking tours of the area to further explore. Gastown is home to many of the city’s hottest restaurants, making it a great pick for a special night out. From European cuisine with farm-to-table flair, through to Asian-inspired molecular gastronomy and everything in between, Gastown’s restaurants will not disappoint.”
