Probably doesn't need an introduction! Yosemite National Park is about two hours east.

One of the most popular things to do in all seasons of Yosemite. See the raging waterfalls in the spring/early summer. Float down the Merced River in the hotter summer month. See the vibrant colors of fall or bask in the peaceful silence of the snow covered valley.

This can be a great day trip or a camping excursion. Yosemite is known for beautiful waterfalls, granite cliffs, and hikes. Yosemite is about 60 miles away from Fresno and an 80 minute drive. There are a lot of easy waterfalls to see without strenuous walks—you can literally drive to many of the tourist attractions, bring a picnic lunch, walk a short hike and then return home. If you are going to do serious hiking and go to Half Dome, please check the website to secure passes to climb the final portion to the top. If you are unable to secure passes, you can still walk most of the trail (just not the very top). There is 1200 square miles to explore so regardless – you can’t go wrong!
