Take a self guided tour through the mansion and enjoy a drink on the veranda afterwards.

I love going here for cocktail hour before dinner. In the summer it's nice to sit on the terrace. The Packer mansion is absolutely beautiful. They sometimes close for cocktails so call before you go.

We enjoy having drinks on the porch of the Harry Packer Mansion Inn, with its great views of downtown Jim Thorpe and the train station. You can opt to do a self-guided tour beforehand or just head to the lounge. They also do murder mystery weekends that look like fun but we haven’t participated.

See how the rich and famous lived in the 1800s! This beautifully restored mansion of Harry Packer is a great example of the wealth that was made from the local coal mines and canal system.

“On your way into Jim Thorpe, the memorial is right on Rt. 903 on your right hand side. It is rather interesting; however, the kids were bored. The adults enjoyed learning the history of our second home away from home.”
