Ample and cosy, easily accessible golden beach with scenic cliffs on both ends. Its western part is sheltered from winds due to adjacent cliffs protection. Great for swimming, walking, and sunbathing. Perfect place for year-round surfing for beginners and intermediate folks.

Visit also the beautiful sandy bay of Porto de Mós Beach. Porto de Mós Beach and Meia Praia Beach are classed as 'Accessible Beaches' and all the Lagos beaches have sun beds to hire and are supervised during the bathing season.

Beach with extensive beach framed in extremes by high cliffs. In the wet season builds up at the bottom of the cliff a thick layer of clay, which they have medicinal properties. It is one of the busiest of the county, its surroundings keeps natural cas charac and the beach has very quiet sections…

“The best place for "pasteis de nata" and to try traditional Algarvian desert like "Dom Rodrigo" and "morgado". You can eat them there, at the "pastelaria" (pastry shop) with an excellent coffee, or take them home with you. Delicious! (Around the corner from fish market)”

“One of the most gorgeous beaches in the Algarve! Turquoise colour of its water that stands out from among natural slopes. It earned an award from a Spanish magazine Condé Nast in 2013 as the most beautifull beach in the world!”

Establishment
“In the 16th century, a section of the city wall was used to construct a building for the governor's dwelling: the Castle of the Governors. Nowadays, what is left of the castle was part of the outer wall that borders Lagos Hospital. The rest was destroyed by the great earthquake of 1755 that also destroyed Lisbon. At the end of this wall, close to the hospital wall, you can see a window from the Manueline period (1495-1520). And in front of the window, vestiges of the old wharf whence the caravels left for the Portuguese maritime discoveries.”

“Out by the lighthouse you will see the classical Algarve with the cliffs. Why not take a boat trip into the "grottos", the caves, and hear the funny story of them by the locals.”
