Imagine view of the ocean from top floor of this lighthouse located right on the cliffs of the Atlantic Ocean! There is a small museum there too with very cute items for purchase!
Nice walk to the oldest light house on Cape. Surrounded by Highland Links Golf Course.
Of the original 10 acre site, only four remain! This is Cape Cod’s first lighthouse, commissioned by President George Washington in 1797. There’s history in the sand and a lot of it begins on the Outer Cape. See what makes Cape Cod such a special place with this great example of one of the Cape…
The oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod. The Highland Light (previously known as Cape Cod Light) is an active lighthouse on the Cape Cod National Seashore in North Truro, Massachusetts. The current tower was erected in 1857, replacing two earlier towers that had been built in 1797 and 1831.
The Highland Light is so picturesque and a short stroll away is a wooden deck that offers beautiful views of the Atlantic. The museum is great with lots of local historical artifacts and a terrific staff who are happy to answer any questions.

“This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape and my personal favorite. For the past several years sand bars create a natural pool that is great for young children to swim in. For more adventurous swimmers you can go out beyond the sandbar and body surf. The sandbar itself is great to walk and if you walk about a mile to the left of the beach there is a seal colony. National Seashore Parking is $20 per day or $60 annual fee. Entry is free with Interagency pass.”
