For a delightful casual walk, go to Bass Lake in Blowing Rock for a flat, one-mile loop suitable for baby strollers (fishing is allowed, but no bicycles or horses). Point your GPS to Bass Lake Loop Drive, Blowing Rock, NC 28605. If you get inspired, you can also take the 4-mile loop up to Moses Cone Manor and back.

Our favorite place in Blowing Rock. Flat loop around Bass Lake, and you can see Cone Manor from the trail. Family and dog friendly. Beautiful any time of year.

It's less than a mile to walk around the lake itself, but the wildlife you will see will make you feel like you've ventured miles into the woods. There are other longer trails here too.

A nice walk around the lake...very popular with locals!Fishing and picnics.
